Photographer’s Note
Taken this morning at Smugglers Cove next to Cullercoats Bay on the Newcastle Coastline. Never been to this location before but have seen it from afar - the cave and arch provide great interest, it was high tide so the water had filled the arch.

Beautiful! i'd love to see this in different weather conditions, maybe with a more dramatic sunset or a storm rolling in. Great angle! Good colors.

Hello Nick -
Splendid image! I like the soft low light of sunrise and the long exposure time to make the water misty. Exposure is spot on the money as is the DOF. The image is slightly over sharpened - notice the halo in the arch - but does not distract from the image. Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely well executed long exposure, Nick. The silky pattern if the sea balanced against the rocks texture in the forground and the fading red in the horizon makes this a stunning shot. I just think that the slight tilt of 1 degree to the left really compromises it considerably.

A great shot Nick, lots of good elements all adding together to make a very satisfying composition. Never even knew this place existed even though I've probably been past it many times. Well done.
Alex.

I canoed through this arch the other week in glorious sunset colours.
This is a good shot & like the mist effect, but the foreground rocks look a little strange, have you processed the original?

extremely interesting composition and the textures are wonderful, though the dark arm of the arch seems a little overbearing. Lynn
