Photographer’s Note

The centrepiece of the NewcastleGateshead Winter Festival is GLOW – a new festival of light, which will showcase a brilliant array of outdoor illuminations and artworks that will intrigue and bring warmth to the coldest winter night.
The Millenium Bridge bathed in a pink "GLOW", shot from the Gateshead side of the river, it should have been placed under "Gateshead, Tyne and Wear", but they don't seem to exist when inputting the technical details.

The colours are entirely natural in the shot thanks to the 30 sec shutter speed and the illuminations - the only post pro was a slight tweak of contrast and a bit of sharpening.

Technically it is not perfect, as you have a lot of overexposed areas. But the different colours and the illuminated bridge excused it.

You should try to reduce the noise via neatimage for instance.
And the composition is not the best either.

Therefore only one smile today.

Hi Alex,
I love in a special manner night shots, and this one is the most amazing I've seen in last days. Its best feature is for sure the bright colours, not very usual in this kind of shots. Also the starbust effect fits very well with the rest of the composition Congratulations! TFP, Dario

Alex, les lumières de la ville sont magnifiques. L'oeil ne cesse de parcourir le cliché pour découvrir des merveilles. J'aime les tons dorés de l'eau ainsi que les ponts et arches qui la traversent.

Hi Alex,
Wow is that nice, don't know where to begin, well let's go on with timing at the best of the blue hour, then the excellent PoV to have the city center framed by the light arch, love the dynamism of the structures as well and the main arch is well outlined by this pink glo, and I'm always in for frozen water resulting from long exposures. If you don't manage to sell this one to Newcastle Promotion then they should look for another job ;-)
