Photographer’s Note
As much of the Newcastle / Gateshead riverside goes through major regeneration over the past few years, the main-stay landmarks of river life gladly remain, taking pride of place astride the river.
Directly above me, is the High Level bridge, a combined road and rail, which is under-going major re-furbishment. In the mid-ground is the Swing Bridge, which pivots around a central point to let ships through. Behind that, is the resplendant arch of the mighty Tyne Bridge, with the newest addition, the Millenium Bridge (or Blinking Eye as it is known because of the way it opens up-wards on giant hinges on either bank), can just be seen hiding beneath the Swing.
Converted to B&W and sharpened using Adobe's new PS Elements 5.

Hey Alex,
Great POV and I like the elegance of the sweeping arches, B&W seems an apt choice for the compo. With that said I must say that it seems a bit oversharpened, almost to a detrimental degree.
regards,
steve
