Photographer’s Note
I was out the other night and decided to stop at Jesmond Dene, the light was really bad an failing quickly, i decided to get a different angle of the waterfall then the usual one from other shots in my folio, so i scrambled down a bank and jumped across a stream to get to the middle of the river on a small area of stones, i set my tripod up and got the best composition i could, without being able to moving an inch! heres the best of the results. I used fill in flash on the lowest setting to add a little light to the scene and a long exposure to get as much light as possible into the camera. This was taken with a fair amount of zoom applied to bring the waterfall into the subject..

Very nice shot, Nick. I think that I'd have left the fill flash off here and have shown less of the foreground rock becuase it competes with the main subject (the water). This is just my opinion though and it's really personal preference.

Hi Nick,
I like the s-shape of this waterfall and the effect of the slow shutter speed. The lighting is excellent for a shot inside a forest. Great shot.
