Photographer’s Note
Last year I went to study in England for a year, and it was the first time I saw REAL snow... I think this picture is alright, coz it means something to me... but I don't think it's very well taken... anyone care to comment?

As you say in your notes, this isn't a particularly great or eye catching picture. However it does fit will with the values of this site "Learning about the world through photography".
I actually do feel that this shows a pretty typical English winter day - hazy and grey (OK bluish in the picture). Bright, sunny, cold days are in the minority !!

Actually, it's quite nice. I'd like to see the trunk of that first tree all the way down to the ground, though. The composition works for me, and the tones are interesting. You might try to fiddle with some contrast. And if you turn the workshop feature on, folks can try a few things that can give you some good ideas. Well seen!

Yep, this definatly look like a particular winters day. Snow, fog and cold, not that bad at all. The blue colour is quit common when shooting snow. A UV filter can be used to give it a more "natrual" colour. Peronally i don't mind the blue. It makes the picture lok cold, and it usually is during winter. :)

I agree with everyone that it is a very wintery picture.. I can also relate to your excitement in seeing real snow for the first time. For me it happened last year in NY -- while I saw snow in ski resorts and scattered snow in Israel, last year in NY was the first time I ever saw heavy snow in a "casual" scene, and was simply amazed... To express my excitement, I took my camera and kept on taking photos until I ran out of batteries... Some are posted here, some are in my album and some were deleted in the name of efficiency and remain as a sweet memory of my first snow...

It's funny to hear someone that he's seen the snow the first time. Anyway, you hit the usually boring winter scene, but in interesting diffuse light. The trees makes the good composition. Maybe you could leave the first tree entire.
