Photographer’s Note
Herewith my version of the often photographed 16th century (Tudor) Lindisfarne Castle that has since been converted by the architect, Edwin Lutyens into an Edwardian country house. It is now in the possession of the National Trust.
It is perched atop a volcanic mound known as Beblowe Craig and accessible only by a 3-mile causeway, which is submerged when the tide comes in so you have to pick your time of visit carefully! It is closed 2 hours before high tide until 3 hours after.
Following the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII, the castle was built in the 1550's using stones from the demolished Lindisfarne Priory, the ruins of which can be seen from the castle itself further down the coast.
It's interior is now open to the public and is well worth a visit, but be prepared to bend a lot!

Hi Vicky. A cracking view of this wonderful place. Glad you got decent weather for your trip. The colours and contrasts are superb and the fence leads the viewer nicely into the shot - as does the path on the left. This would also make an excellent B&W as lots of tones. Well done and TFS. Paul.

Hi Vicky. An excellent viewpoint for this shot, looking up the path and using the fence line too. I like clouds' shadows any time, and here they look great on the shore. Just a terrific shot of Lindisfarne with a well exposed sky. Well done.

Vicky,
This is a very nice shot. Your composition is great placing the castle to one side and showing the sea and coastline giving the photo direction. Your POV is great using the walkway and fence to lead the eye to the castle.
The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail.
TFS,
Asa

Hallo Vicky!
I never have seen this, therefore I'm enthousiastic about this view! I like the buildup of the picture very much and that you show the castle with it's surroundings here. A great scenery!
