I’m not a great football fan, but for the interests of those who are this shot is of Middlesbrough F C Riverside Stadium as seen from across the river, the light conditions were poor and fading but the river was calm which prompted me to take this shot, maybe you could post a shot of your local stadium!

If I did it would be the same one. Maybe you should start a theme. I seem to remember "Vicky" posting one of Highbury and I've seen one or two others. Try putting stadium in the search and quite a lot will come up I should think.
Your photo flatters the stadium really, as it looks to be in an idyllic setting by the river. It's so annoying that the promised development is still not happening. Well done for putting the Riverside on the TE map.

I've been to this place! But I was in the away end...
It's a pity you didn't get a brighter day for this as the grey sky blends in with the stadium & the water. But the viewpoint is great. I'll suggest a crop of the lower part to have horizon lower down in the frame, but otherwise it's fine.

Hi Irene, I'm not a big football fan myself but you have to support your local team, Come on Boro!
It's a good place to take the picture from as you managed to get the whole stadium, the weather let you down a bit though unfortunately. For a more artistic shot, I would be tempted to take the picture closer to the stadium and from an angle to emphasise the structure.

hi irene,, never seen the stadium taken from this angle before as you say poor lighting conritions maybe you should go back on a sunny day the stadium would stand out against a blue sky rather than melting into a typical grey skyline

What you and I call Football, Irene, is called Soccer over here, but the sport is in it's infancy, and no stadiums are needed. Here, we have a pitch and a few benches, that is all. Bummer, cause I like it.
Nice building, well centered and interesting location along the river (for fans to cool off after a match?)

this shot makes sense of chill wind on lake and a sky that is ready to raining.
but the composition and framing is great
Thanks for sharing

Hi, Irene! Nice to hear from you! I haven't noticed this pic before! It's a nice stadium (I confess you I'm not a great football fan either!). Unfortunately, the weather was not good and the sky was grey... Anyway, it's a good composition. I hope to see your new pics very soon! Greetings from Rio!

Hi Irene, A great POV of this magnificent stadium, I when to Ayresome Park years ago when I was about 12 & loved it, but have never been to the Riverside, although the day looks dull you have shown the stadium superbly, TFS & I'll try & get a shot of Ellan road the home of Super Leeds, or at least they use to be, kind regards Wilson.

i don't understand much about football..but since it now has became a craze here, i should join the crowd or i be left out!
the composition is well presented with the pier and the smooth water on the FG giving the scale. nice, cool shot!
the venue for soccer here has always been the home depot stadium....
