Photographer’s Note
Hidden away from the outside world, the beautiful remains of the Cistercian Abbey at Skelldale have been almost undisturbed for the past 500 years. The wooded valley of the River Skell shelters not only the extensive ruins of Fountains Abbey, but also contains John Aislabie's 18th century water garden, adorned with Classical temples, towers and statues.

Hello Fara,
A beautiful sun bathed perspective through the ruins of this abbey. Some wonderful shadow play through the arches. Combined with superb rendering of the tones and textures of the old stones. Well done.

Hello Fara,
this is a good geometrical composition, with a perfect control on the exposure.
It well returns the spirit of this place

Hi Fara,
I like a lot symmetry in this kind of shot, the clear vanishing point drives you through the scene, and much more if the composition is like in this shot, with the nearby door framing the corridor to the other door or window..,I feel like if I was going into an oil painting. Thanks for sharing.

Sonsoles

Salut.
Belle perspective, et grande profondeur pour cette image.Le rappel ombragé des arches sur l'herbe est bien trouvé, et le tout petit reflet complète ce trés beau cliché.
Bravo.

Hi Fara,
I love ruins of abbeys you can see in many places in UK. These ones really look spectacular. Your POV is excellent, with a fantastic DOF and a good light. TFS.
