Photographer’s Note
I got an early bus into York city centre because the Shambles (which is the street in the photograph) gets very busy and I wanted to capture the street when it was queit. The Shambles is a historic street in York which is very popular with tourists. Some buildings date back to the 14th Century. The street was once home to many butcher shops and in 1872 there were 25. No though there are none as the shops now cater for tourists.
