Early morning in York and it is the calm before the storm on the river. In just a few hours the river will be a hive of activity with pleasure cruises and private boats leisurely going up and down the river. The photo was taken from Lendal Bridge looking out to the east with the Park Inn hotel (right) and the cinema (left).

Hi Matt!

A shot with best effect so far in your gallery.Really liked the calm mood of river.Horizon is also well placed.You've succeeded in conveying your feelings through a note.Black and white effect have given it a great depth,(Of early morning).I can sense an element of silence and calmness in this picture.Very well-taken.

hi matthew, nice idea to post the shot in b&w it looks much more dramatic, i dont think i have ever seen york so quite, my only comment would be maybe crob a bit of the sky.
