Not much to say about the photo, I like the path under the light... the light contrast was very strong, I brightened up the stones at the foreground on PS. I'm not sure if I should brighten it up further, if I did, would I lose the contrast? Thanks for looking, all comments and advices are welcome.
This is the path in Whitby, I didn't remember it was there on my first visit. Walking towards right was the jetty, left to the sea.

These boulders certainly provide an efficient foreground, as well as a good diagonal. Overall I would say this is a good, "three parts" composition with several attractive lines and curves. It also looks like a nice street to walk. The light is really harsh and the contrast is strong, but it doesn't disturb me. I tried a workshop to see how brightening the foreground would turn out, but comparing them I considered your version just as good. I couldn't post the ws anyway because I've used my quota for today.

Hello Jasmine - I like your shot as it stands. The FG detail is fine with the light bringing out the textures and volumes. The composition is super, I like the pathway leading up the hill; the shadows and highlights add to the atmosphere that the strongly contrasted sky imparts. Difficult light but very well managed and full of atmosphere. Warm regards Rosemary

You have an excellent eye :) So many of your images are fascinating in that you see a wonderful shot where others would just walk by, and I love that and think that is the heart of photography. This is another example, such a day to day scene, but you have presened an interesting shot with depth, colour and great light. I think the light is perfect as it is, and allows the shadows of the fence to pop perfectly. Nicely done :)
All the best

I can only agree with what others have said here. Despite your misgivings, I think the light here is absolutely perfect and you have managed it very well indeed.
This, of course, is a contre jour picture and the bright light coming straight at you is very, very difficult to deal with at any time. But you have managed exceedingly well with no evidence at all of lens flare. There are lovely silvery reflections off the pathway, the railings and the foreground rocks and, even although those houses are in relative shade, I can see all the details in them perfectly. And, of course, you've managed to retain a very fine and interesting sky as well.
I think this one is brilliant and I wouldn't do anything to change it at all!

The short reflects that there has been a contemplated choice of exposure and timing to get this wonderful desired effects of light and shades.Very well done.
