Photographer’s Note
Earlier this summer, at the beginning of June, Scarborough was host to the Thundercat World Championship Festival. It was a tremendous achievement as this was the first time a 'Thundercat P750 powerboat World Championship' has been held in the UK.
Every boat race event as well as any other held on the beach needs to be secured. Some of the security members are recruited locally - many of them volunteers.
This lady was part of a rather unpleasant and rude team securing road entrance to the beach from the Spa Bridge roundabout, during the whole competition. I've heard many people complaining the way they talked to passers-by and their crude behaviour.
I myself would like to know who hires them.
... scary...
Difficult light to tackle as the woman was completely backlit, as you can see yourself.

Hi Robert,
I think i may be in love!!
I like the focus, the slightly out of focus checkerboard banner at the back adds nice depth & the light is well controlled as you point out.
Did you get a second date with her??!!
TFS.
Regards, David Cortez ;P

hello Robert,
I think you should ask her to sit the other way ;DDD
It is a fantastic shot, i like the daily life as it is ... she looks very dangerous and you captured that very good ! Let's hope she's not a TE member ....
greetings, inn

I think I could outrun this one! I think you did a great job with the photo but I think the best way to photograph this one is in a dark room with no lights. Whoa!

Hi Robert, very scary who's going to argue with her. I hope you didn't get any trouble from taking the photo, you were very brave. Thanks for the giggle.

Hi Robert, nice shot of a very scary lady. Must say I'm a little worried by David's choice in women. Possibly a little overexposed for my liking ;-)
But seriously, good shot! TFS, Roberto

Hi Robi,
You certainly wouldn't want to mess with her, that's for sure. Great composition and a good job in difficult lighting conditions.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Robi,
This must be a lady to obey. At first sight I thought she was promoting a chess tournament, and I found her therefore a misplaced character. But this more powerful event suits her more.

Indeed this boat will float by itself, already by sight you are warned by the suffocating threatening pillows ornamented with grafitti on her voluminous sledge-hammers with all respect for her serious cigarete convincing filling out her task, quite some figure you risked to take backlightening up her contours by the sun, your venture well completed Robert without injuries I hope:)
Take care

:-)))
That cigarette, the tattooes, the downturned lips say a lot of what you write in your note, Robi! :-)
Haha, I now see David C'z comment and it makes me laugh even harder! Come on! Tell him to see Pasqualino by Lina Wertmuller, then he'll have a change of hearts ;-)
A fantastic shot. A modern-day maenad!
Take care

I certainly wouldn't have messed with her - I find the angry sunburnt cleavage especially intimidating, not to mention those tattooed arms...
This is great Robi, you've really captured her surly confidence and disdain for humanity. That cigarette dangling casually from the mean, tight mouth - great stuff.
I'm sure she's very nice when you get to know her...
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Robi. I didn't even have to read your note to tell she was a little rough around the edges! The backlight probably wasn't easy to work with but you did a fine job of keeping your exposure balanced. I might have tried a flash here actually. I think I prefer it in color too. tfs Robi.

Hello Robert,
I can enjoy when I read the note about this lady, what a lady.
You took a very good image with sigaret and tattoo.
Maybe have to the police more have of this type ladies around the football entries.
Very well done!!!
Have a nice day,
John.

hello Robert,
oh what a laugh! This is my kind of picture. Whilst we all enjoy beautiful landscapes on TE, this is something else! Great capture. It has me tickled pink.I saw a few scary looking security doorwomen in Edinburgh just this last week. If female, only just.Wouldn't have dared photograph them.
Could she have been the nurse in "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" in a previos life?
well done

Hello, Robert.
What a bruiser! I wouldn't fancy a fourpenny-one from her! You were incredibly brave to tackle her with just a 70mm lens - I'd need at least a 1000mm so I could keep my distance and also have it as a handy weapon.
Fantastic picture, though. Well done!
Best Wishes,
John.
