I am finishing off my Runswick Bay series with a wide-angle view taken from the beach. Here you can see how some of the detailed shots fit into the whole. For information about the village here. To see what it looks like among the tightly arranged houses look here.
On this picture the white coastguard's cottage can be seen on the far right. Look here for a closer view. Nearest to the shore you can see a father and son fishing. For a closer look see here
Also on the picture is the fortifications to keep the sea and its erosive effects at bay, and the Lifeboat Station (centre-right) with the blue doors. On the top of the cliff is the Cliff Mount Hotel. If you eat there ask for a window table as the views are spectacular.
While we were walking on the beach we met some friends and stopped to chat. When we returned the tide had come in and the path you can see was cut off by the sea. We were not the only ones caught out and there was much amusement as we paddled to dry land.
I hope you have enjoyed this mini-series.

A great travel shot of the village. This looks like a really nice viallage to visit and very picturesque. And from your detailed shots a nice place to just roam around. White washed houses, red roofs, green trees, and cloudy skies - it must be England - love it!
Thanks for sharing

Kath just an observation about your gallery. I notice from your first few pages and compared to this photo here that there has been alot of effort, learning, and achieving your goals in your photography. I see a quality photo here in cloudy skies. I see good exposure and yet the clouds are nicely exposed too. Cropping this down makes me focus on the scene of the town along this shoreline. There is also a very definite 4 layers to enjoy too. Starting from the shoreline moving up to the town homes, the hills above the homes and finally the nicely exposed clouds above. And to top if off the people on the beach including the seaweed along the waters edge acting as an invitation to see this postcard photo! You dun reelly good girl here!

I'm not sure you had to capture such a big part of the beach, but the compo stays very interesting.
The village and the bay seem to be really beautiful, even with this grey sky.

Beauticul village and sea coastline in a low angle of capture and with a fine perspective. Many precious details, nice houses, clear picture, good sharpness and contrast. All is well balanced in this nice near sea scenery. Beatiful houses and people enjoying near the beach.
Very well seen, done and composed.
Have a happy weekend.

Hi Kath, I like the grand view of the beach, the coastline, the house, and the mountains provided in this picture. This is a very well composed picture with an excellent arrangement of the different layers. A relax scene. Good to have the people in the view to provide the dynamics and size references. A very well taken picture.

Nice photo. Because of the curve in the water, the photo has a nice depth. I like the simple colours (red, green brown) here. The photo is very sharp, almost too sharp. Thanks for sharing this beautiful pic!
