Photographer's Note

Redcar is a place with very contrasting beaches. The main beach is is a massive expanse of sand and rocks running diagonally out to sea. The other, less visited beach is near the mouth of the river Tees with the local steel works in the background.

For this shot, I used a tripod and a ND grad filter to balance exposure. I used f22 for maximum detail from front to back and focused just beyond the rock in the lower left corner.
