Photographer’s Note
She's been waiting for years now for her husband to come back home. Two years now since he's been in service somewhere in France - she hasn't seen him since...
But today she put her best outfit on and is now patiently waiting for the 12 o'clock train from London that will bring happiness back to her heart!

one of the most unusual portraits among the most unusual portraits, Rob.
It takes us back to those antique photos ( usually in sepia) in those old magazines...
A truly classical stuff, bro.
Her face, her outfit...
What a difference a one photo can make ?

Hello Rob,
This shot makes me feel I should go out and buy a hat! I doubt I could carry it off as well as this woman - whose natural poise you have caught so well. Spot-on focussing and colours.
Best wishes....Maggie

Superb portrait, Robi. This is what I'm talking about in closer approaches - I can't o this. I don't know if you used a zoom but you seem pretty close. I like the note too. Great detail of image and wonderful expression you got on her. A very sedutive old lady.
cheers,

If I was to guess at her age, it's probably her son she is waiting for. ;D Wonderful portrait, nicely framed, with great detail and good use of wide aperture.

dignity and class... these two qualities are there... plainly exposed with delicacy yet with full consciousness of her "values"...
good stuff, there...
