Photographer's Note
The photo was taken from Pontefract castle, if you want to know more about Ferrybridge C power station, please click the link . I didn't visist there only amazed by the "Power..". Sometimes I see the power stations from a distance, I'm always fascinated by the steam coming out of the chimney , it forms all sorts of clouds.. interesting and beautiful, it becomes part of England's landscape... Thanks for looking.

Hello Jasmine ,
What a contrast between the park and its old stones , and the power station ! I Like the effect of the white smoke against the grey sky . That adds to the quite dramatic mood .

Hello Jasmine,
This is a most interesting and dramatic composition with lovely atmospheric lighting. You have produced a thing of beauty out of this largely industrial scene. Superb tonal contrasts and very good clarity. Bravo!

Hello Jasmine - I can understand your fascination with the huge cooling towers. I grew up in the countryside and the first time I saw a power station I was bowled over by the elegant curves of the towers, the steam, the smoke and the general industrial look. I like this shot for the same reasons and your composition is good. The framing of the industry by the autumn foliage and moody sky works very well. Perhaps not a popular subject in a world that looks for prettiness but I like this a lot. Warm regards rosemary

Hi Jasmine,
interesting picture, resembles a bit the view from my window, lol. Only the beautiful colorful leaves have been long gone. A nicely composed frame with that walk and steps going up into the trees. Well done.
Best regards

Hello Jasmine,
This is beautiful and ugly and a bit scary - all at the same time. There is a stunning contrast between the mainly green and almost natural lowr part and the grey upper part where the huge buildings, steam and clouds look like an imagined picture of Hell. I suppose the structures in the foreground are parts of the castle grounds, and so they should be beautiful, but in this strange context they also give me a kind of creepy feeling. A strange photo with a very strong impact, far from your recent idyllic towns.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Jasmine,
What a creepy vision ! Your excellent POV shows off two very contrasting surroundings, one natural and the other industrial. I like the idea that the trees in the park may form a barrier to hide the ugly reality behind. The dark ominous sky is quite setting the somber mood here. A very well composed and well spotted composition.
Best regards
Jean

Ciao Jasmine
una composizione molto interessante, il taglio verticale ti ha permesso di avere più spazio da dedicare alle due differenti situazioni ed il contrasto tra il cielo nero con le costruzioni inquietanti è molto evidente nei confronti della parte sotto.

Hello Jasmine,
Power stations make super compositions and you have caught the white steam perfectly against the grey sky. I like the contrast of this industrial landscape with the quiet grounds of the castle. Very well done.

Hello Jasmine,
We don't usually think of power stations as being things of great beauty, but you have here produced a beautiful picture and made the very most of this huge building, its chimneys and its cooling towers.
(The tall skinny things are chimneys but the shorter fatter things shaped like )( are cooling towers!)
Your composition is excellent with the building, its chimneys and cooling towers perfectly placed in the frame and trying to hide behind a lovely curtain of trees in their beautiful autumn colours in the mid-ground. The foreground is fascinating too and the pathways and the steps cleverly lead the eye upward through the trees to the power station.
I presume that the ruins in the nearest foreground are of parts of Pontefact Castle.
Lovely colours, perfect exposure and excellent detail and clarity.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.
