Holme seascape
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is the North norfolk coast. Big Beaches with big skys. Taken at Holme Beach near to the Bird reserve. Many migrating birds rest as the north norfolk coast as it is the first land they encounter enroute south down the North sea.
The dunes are a big feature of the coasts of the uk I tried to show this as part of the whole seascape amd the variety of lighting in the image is totally natural the sky has received some photoshop magic with a little dodging ad burning.
Hope you like it? |

what a nice peaceful place!
Nice contrasts. The B/W focus this shoot on the windy wheather of this coast... did I guess? well, on the other hand... no wind, no foredunes!
Stunning light if totally natural!! I like the comp, you've an interesting pov. Very lovely. However my personal preference would be to cut off a little of the bottom to gain a little more sky. (taste is subjective ;) ) Would like to know your exposure data though and time of day etc. Rgds, Leilani
I do like it Stephen. The scene is peaceful. The 5D with the 17-40mmL is an awesome combo. You really achieved some great tones here with your BW conversion.
TAke care,
Brian

Hi Stephen,
I was impressed by the sense of space and motion in this picture. All the lines (bent-over grass, beach, waves, clouds) point towards the top right of the picture, creating a strong sense of movement and drawing you in.
The B/W also gives the photo a wonderful dreamlike quality.
Regards
John
