Photographer’s Note
I took this on a sunday afternoons walk. It's Cow Tower in Norwich.
Cow Tower is situated sitting on a sharp bend by the River Wensum along riverside walk in Norwich. Also located within sight of the cathedral (which you can see in the background, off to the left), the ruined Cow Tower was built in 1398-9 and is a very rare example of a freestanding medieval artillery tower. This circular, detached brick tower once formed part of the city’s 14th Century defences and gets its name because it stands in a water meadow once known as Cowholme. Although looking almost complete the tower was badly damaged during Kett’s Rebellion in 1549.
I really liked the lighting of it, and with the bend of the river, I feel it's well composed.
