Photographer’s Note

This grand house, opposite Blakeney Quay, must once have stood opposite the sea before silting rather disappointingly displaced the sea a kilometer away. The Dutch influenced gable is a clue to this former port's strong Flemish links. Still, the house adds a touch of elegance to its present location and now has peerless views over a salt marsh towards Blakeney point, a spit of land where there is a seal colony and where Sandwhich Terns nest in large numbers.
