Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I don't think this bridge, called Marine Way Bridge, has ever been posted on TE previously; it is a cable-stayed bridge, with the deck supported from an 'A' frame, in Southport.
What surprised me, was to find such a large, imposing bridge, spanning an artificial lake. On researching the bridge, it seems that it was an attempt to enthuse people and to help the regeneration of the area. If you follow the link here it will give lots of information about the bridge.
Whatever, I found it a most exciting photographic opportunity.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing the photograph, which I hope you enjoyed.
Have a lovely day, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
I think this bridge is a fairly recent addition, I don't remember it all. My mother used to live quite close to Southport, it was her favourite place to go shopping, pleasant and flat and with the right kind of shops! Anyway, the bridge does make an excellent subject for the photographer, especially when framed against a sky like that. Fine capture, thanks for sharing. I shall be posting another oldie from Southport tomorrow that you may recognise. Take care.

Modern bridge in Calatrava style, Beverly, now this technique is used everywhere.
Great clear view upon, very impressive and fine sharp details on image.

Bonjour Beverly
Effectivement, il est très beau ce pont en A. Des formes simples et épurées mises en valeur par un point de vue intéressant et un très beau ciel comme arrière plan.
Amicalement

Hello Bev,
An interesting bridge and an interesting note about it too. Funny, although this appears to be a fairly modern concept, using a big "A" frame as support, nonetheless the Romans certainly used "A" frames as cranes for lifting heavy objects such as stones and their predecessors probably used them too for building megalithic monuments like Stonehenge - so it ain't a new idea after all.
A very clear and sharp picture with fairly "minimal" composition, the roadway of the bridge forming the base of the image, but with lovely strong lines from the support cables - all making up myriads of your beloved triangles! Nice soft light and colours and spot-on exposure.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Bev
a really cool composition for a cable style bridge.
excellent idea Bev to use the bottom of the bridge as the anchor :)
and seeing the cables rise up and spread their wings across the frame is nice too.
great shots lately
cheers

Hello Beverley,
The design is clean and elegant. I appreciate the choice of perspective and framing. Very good quality, despite difficult lighting. Bravo.
Have a nice day
