Photographer’s Note

Liverpool, Vauxhall, Collingwood dock.

It's one of the old pools of the northern docks of the Port of Liverpool.
It's located on the earth of a pools network, linked by channels. it's separated from Stanley dock by a road bascule bridge.

As the southern docks of the Mersey front, those of the north were closed at the end of the 70's while the port and the industry of liverpool declined.
You have to go notherly, next to the mouth of the river to find the port activities now.

Anyway, the economy seems to get better here and docks find a new use and get a second life with the grow up of business buildings on the waterfront.

The Stanley dock area (where Collingwood dock takes place) was included since 2004 in the Liverpool world heritage by the UNESCO.

End (dusk) of a time and start of a new one...
