Photographer’s Note

A cricket match played by the Lancashire A team (that is a polite name for the B team). The fielder has just avoided a very painful blow from the hard ball.

Cricket is one of the most popular games in the world, with 120 countries belonging to the International Cricket Council. In many countries of the British Commonwealth it is the most popular sport, but it is also popular in other countries, such as the UAE and Afghanistan.
In Estonia there is also an annual ice-cricket tournament (!)

Hi Alan, What a wonderful capture, the ball as it races past the fielder who looks terrified, the perfect action shot, just a pitty Ian Bell did not manage to do the same, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

I am a big cricket fan and this shot makes me really happy! This is the first time I have seen somebody post a cricket shot on TE. Amazing timing on your part to get this. Great shot!
