Photographer's Note
Another in my little series of refelctions on Liverpool. This shot was taken from The Strand looking over the corner of the Canning dock back towards the Albert dock.
The title comes form the Arctic Monkeys song of the same name. Extract form the lyrics produced below. I was thinking the "she" referred to in the lyrics could be the ship in the shot:
"Bet she's delighted when she sees him
Pulling in and giving her the eye
Because she must be f**king freezing
Scantily clad beneath the clear night sky
it doesn't stop in the winter, no
Around here
They said it changes when the sun goes down
Over the river going out of town"
Enjoy.

Hello Michael,
incredible meteorological conditions! I never saw such a brilliant reflection on an absolutely motionless water outside the Alps. Lighting of sky and artificial illumination are also remarkable. "The luck of the capable man" - as we say in German.

Hi Michael,
I am loving the series of reflections you are posting, and am thoroughly enjoying the varirty of light and colours that each shot offers. The position of the chimney here is perfect, and draws the eye in wonderfully, but the boat and ulliminated trees are class too. The depth in the distance further down the river is superb!
All the best

Boy, you can't ask for more still water than that, can you? Beautiful scene with a great reflection - especially those lit trees, which look really cool reflected in lower left.
One question: I assume given the low shutter that this was shot using a tripod? Why then go with the higher ISO? Why not drop it down and use a longer exposure? Or was this handheld, in which case you have my very deep respect for being able to produce such a sharp shot at 1/4 seconds!

Hi Michael
Good bold photo- you've captured the evening colours and the dark sky so beautifully along with the amazing golden glow forming a glorious colour combination. The calm water reflection is a real bonus, excellent composition, .in fact everything going for it. I feel I am almost standing there taking in the scene. Excellent image and you are able to hold its own with the best, Sublime Mike. Congrats
Kind regards

Hi Michael
love this one! Your light management here is phenomenal and so beautifully controlled. The detailing and lights here are superb and the overall effect so pleasing to the eye. Excellent work!
Enjoy your weekend - regards Brian.
Thanks for your explanation about the previous shot, I sometimes get carried away composing and clicking and then realise that I have not re-checked certain settings on my camera! Still learning!

Michael,
this is great shot with excellent composition and carefully chosen POV. The light has been managed masterly. But what I like the best about it are the trees with all these lights tangled into the branches. Such a beautiful detail!
Well done
