Photographer's Note
The title comes from a song from a famous Liverpool "band" called The Scaffold, who consisted of Roger McGough, John Gorman and Mike McGear (who was actually Mike McCartney - Paul McCartney's brother; Roger McGough of course perhaps being the most famous of the three over the long term.
Mike McCartney has become a photographer. He has an exhibition in the Museum of Liverpool(the building with the greenish tinge in the image) up on the third floor. I was amazed when I saw one of his images of Billy Fury because it was identical to the one I took of Billy Fury and posted on here. I am also sure I took mine before he took his.
Anyway - this is a shot across Canning dock again, towards Mann island showing the Museum of Liverpool(I have posted shots of the amazing staircase inside this building on TE).
Enjoy.

Hi Mike - I had to smile at your title.... most appropriate. I love the lines and angles of this shot. Beautifully composed and some impressive architecture made doubly impressive thanks to the reflections. It's an age since I visited L'pool but I remember a great city. From what you show here it continues to be so! Super to see. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello Mike,
I knew Roger McGough was a well established poet but didn't know what had happened to Mike McCartney. How interesting. I like the idea that you inspired him.
You got some fabulous shots of Albert Docks in the evening.
I just cannot believe how still the water appears, allowing you to duplicate the lines and shapes of the buildings with wonderful clarity. It's just a beautiful shot with that amazing light.
Who wouldn't want to come and photograph this area after seeing your shots!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Michael,
Superb buildings and what a sky, it's a very apt name for your capture. I really like that the museum is missing from the awesome reflection, like a magic trick. Really like the modern styles of these buildings, the reflection adding to the whole thing. Beautiful light too, and thanks for he note, I love to know what the buildings we see actually are.
All the best
Noel

Hi Michael
this photo shoot has yielded some wonderfully attractive images. Love the pink light here (Gradient Filter?) and the sharp reflections and pin points of light. It is an intriguing and beautiful study. Very artistic image.
Regards - Brian.
Remember the song and I see Billy Fury gets another mention. ;-)

Hi Michael,
The water is so calm. The color is so soothing. The reflections are so wonderful.

Another inspired reflection shot here, Mike - and an interesting title from a band I haven't heard... odd that McCartney's brother would change his name - an attempt to get out from the shadow, maybe? Interesting the connection between your Billy Fury shots as well - the similarity is clear (I looked his up - more of a silhouette than yours, but clearly from almost the same spot).
Anyway, enough about the wayward McCartney; this reflection works particularly well because of the way each building merges with its own reflection to create a new shape. There's no really clear water line here, and the light of the sky and the reflection are so close that it's hard to draw a real distinction, giving this a sort of abstract modernist feel. Nicely done!
Andrew
