Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday, I posted a shot of Albert Dock here , taken in 2010. Today, I am posting a shot taken of Albert Dock in 2011.
It wasn't until I posted the shot, yesterday, that I realised how similar the two aspects were.
I love the feeling on entrapment created by the window frame. The black frame feels like bars, whilst the view of the boats and the water give a yearning of escape.
Hope you like the shot.
Have a lovely w/e, Bev:-)

Now that you mentioned the dates, I realized that taken a similar picture on two diff. occasions, Beverly.
Must be an amazing opportunity, and a nice subject.
One Beatle must had seen this place as you show, years ago...
Fine idea applied well.
Enjoy a nice weekend,

Hi Beverley,
I agree with your feelings about this image. It is a very well composed image with the viewer drawn to finally rest their gaze on the boat at the left. The window makes one feel as if they are an intimate part of the image.

Trevor

I love to discouver places trhough windos like this. This one is quite interesting. The left portion of the window kind of bothers me a little, I would have probably croped-out, but It might had taken some of the picture balance as well...

Bonjour Beverly,
J'aime beaucoup cette impression de tristesse qui se dégage de cette image, probablement à cause de la buée autour des carreaux de la fenêtre. Une charmante composition.
Bon samedi

Hello Beverley,
The elements colored red are the best effect, through these windows not really transparent. It is a good idea, creative and cleverly framed picture and realized. Very good quality. Bravo.
Have a nice day

hi bev,
your viewpoint here is excellent through the window with its strong black lines dividing the image into sections. the boat stands out very well with its detail and colours immediately apparent. the red coloured pillars provide a great contrast to the white cabin of the boat while their positioning also help the viewers eye towards the boat.

Hello Bev,
I like this view through the window and your title, which is very apt. All the elements are well placed resulting in a pleasant well balanced composition. The image is sharp and has good colours. Have a a good Sunday.

Hello Bev
Now I like this more than yesterday's shot because itis more creative and original. I love the way the window frame segments the image and the dirty windows create a kind of dreamy diffused aspect to the image but the panel featuring the boat seems to be the clearest so emphasizing it as the main subject.
Well observed shot.
I'm running low on images and the teaching term beckons so I might try to fit another trip to the Albert dock again in the next week or so.
Have a good day.

Hello Beverley,
I did like yesterday posting. I also like this one. I find it more industrial compare to the more tourist area of yesterday. In this picture I can smell the fish and see the fishermen emptying their ship.
Great job

Hello Bev,
So this is the 2011 view of the old Albert Dock, seen dramatically through the paned-window. I actually like this better than the 2010 version, especially with the smudges in the glass, the old barge sitting in dock, and the overcast sky. It reminds me of the new Sherlock Holmes film (with Robert Downey, Jr.) that we saw last night of London in the late 19th century.
We all communicate in written English, frequently universal "broken English" at this site — there is the Queen's English, the Oxford English, the Texas English (if you can call it that)... and even the Liverpudlian English. But we rarely hear actual spoken dialects. Do you happen to have the charming Liverpudlian dialect?
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Bev,
There is a lot to enjoy in this picture. The windows give the impression of being either old and dirty or misted up. There is a lovely bit of clarity surrounding the boat. I like the repetition of the red/brown pillars in the BG and the shapes of the window frames. You saw a great opportunity here to get an intetresting image and took the photo perfectly.
Very atmospheric.
Kind Regards, Ann

This could be right out of Victorian England. I love the character and sense of history you create by shooting the scene through these old windows. The place is marvellous, and although your previous photo is excellent, I think I prefer this one which is both original and artistic, aswell as having created this very particular atmosphere.
Thanks for sharing, have a beautiful day

Hi Bev
wodnerful wonderful.
I took some similar photo's when i was on my european trip.
its the dirt and smudges that look awseome, giving it that gritty feel.
Feel like i'm looking out of a window in a psychiatric hospital.
cool shot
cheers

Hello Beverley! It could have been nice , too , with only the boat , but this would have been another picture . It is not easy to capture the lighting on the FG and BG but here are perfect. Perfect idea behint of window and another look shot in general ?give a yearning with and hart of eye escape !

Hi Beverley
I like very much the framing through the windows giving a gloomy atmosphere to the docks of Liverpool.
Cheers
