Photographer’s Note
Ancoats in Manchester is full of spectacular old buildings like this one. This was most likely an old cotton mill, one of as many as 560 in Lancashire. Today they are being pulled down at a tremendous speed; a few weeks prior to this photo being taken there was another factory in the foreground of this picture.
I dug this one out about a month ago and did some fairly fancy PP on it using Raw Shooter Pro and Photoshop. It's mostly colour changes but the shot is obviously quite different from the original. This is very close to what I had in my mind when I took the shot in the first place.

I like what you have done with the color. It really goes well with the feeling of old and derelict. The composition is really good and I like the reflection is the puddle.

Hi Lewiz,
The composition with the old factory in the backgroung and a swampy puddle in the foreground is well seen. I am wondering what is the guy doing in such a place ? The colour PP enhances the neglected state of the place. Great one !

That is certainly not a very touristic view from
Manchester, so I won't go there for holidays :-) Only may be be for Photographic performance like this one. Well shown for these modern ruins, with a long furnished foreground showing the place that have been done. Colors and mood are according to the subject.
I like it

Is it made really in the nice Britain?
Good composition - I like the reflections in the puddle.

Nice placement of the man in the shot Lewis. I like the immense amount of detail in the photo and love the deep colours of the puddle and it's reflections. But I find there's a bit too much contrast in the picture thus making the building look a little odd. But seeing this is how you want to display the picture I'll take my moans into a seperate place!
Thanks

Brrrr.... a nice apocalyptic scene even with someone walking inside, that's cool... Looks to be quite an atmospheric location...

Truly wonderful image. I am constantly drawn to such locations as this one here in the USA and around the world. This image is reminiscent of Detroit today or the Bronx in the late 70s (there is one particular image I have in mind). Excellent work.
