How to take advantage of a rainy day in UK? Just focus on the drops of water on the windscreen and have the semi detached houses out of focus.
What do you think?

I like your approach! The result is fully abstract but also really interesting. Good use of DOF gave a superb visual effect. TFS.

This is one such photograph which inspires me to go out, experiment with the different settings, learn something new.
Its a irony that these kind of photographs are rare on this site, which is now plagued more with snap shots.
I admire your idea of focusing on the drops and let the lens do the rest.
Creative mind, Claude.

It had to be Manchester! Mind you, my latest posting is from Greater Manchester, and I was there on the sunny day of the year. To answer your question, I think this is inventive, near-abstract, and quite surprisingly beautiful.

coming from south wales this was an all too familiar sight, that's why the grass is so green.
although the background is blurred and out of focus the colours are vivid and could be almost anywhere in the suburbs in the uk.
good abstract posting.

A very original and creative idea. You have captured a very fine effect here with all these water drops with this row of houses.

Salut Claude, vraiment originale!

hello Claude, I think it is a good idea. Interesting picture. Very nice abstract image achieved. Creative idea and superb realization.

Bonjour Claude. An effective approach. Together with the title you have created an oppressive mood where the individual is held captive by nature's whims. Amicalement. Klaudio.

the rain is so english, but you've managed to get such a pleasing array of colors in between the raindrops ~ love it, love it ~ great idea :)

Ne me dis pas qu'il pleut en Angleterre!Un très bel effet photographique au rendu assez pictural et très original.

You did find a way to take a really interesting picture in a rainy day! The focus on the water drops is great with the blurred city in the background! Beautiful composition! Well done!

Hello, quite an interesting and artistic image partly because of the diagonal lines and the sense of perspective. the foreground drops provide a very interesting image by itself.
Good eye and very creative,
Have a great day,

Ah... a watercolour? Ha ha. Typical British weather too! I really like the effect you have achieved here - creative!

Très classique mais super bien réalisé ! Le fond se prête vraiment bien à ce jeu de plans de netteté en plus !
Les taches bleues, rouges et vertes sont du plus bel effet !
Bien vu !

Making the best out of a bad situation...weather wise anyway. :) I like what you've done here, concentrating on thing that's causing the most problem...and doing so to create a thoughtful regard to the content. Certainly something that makes one look twice. Great concept and execution to bring it forward as an interesting piece, I think the result turned out quite well indeed! Thanks for the notes today, I appreciate the sentiments. Bonne journee.

A mundane subject taken through a glass window on a rainy day using fairly slow shutter, this no doubt is a good picture and very innovative. The blurred offer a glimpse of location on a wet day and the splashes of vivid color grab attention while the sharp focus of water droplets make this works and the brain reads the detail. Despite the condition, it's a joyful, colourful and sensational in its simplicity and this would make such a good advert for the good ol British Summer too!! Well done

Amazing idea and composition. The BG and FG are the main themes simultaneously in this photo. I like this idea. Very creative work! TFS
Have a nice weekend!

I couldn't resist viewing this shot.
you have chosen a smart looking backdrop here, it works well. Have you ever done this same style with neon lights in the bg?
love the overall final look you've created, nice job.

I immediately identified this as UK with the row of semi-detached houses (probably built in the 1930s)visible through the raindrops on the windscreen. Nicely controlled exposure and focussing that has given an original view of what is probably a fairly typical street in the area.
Kind Regards, Ann
