Black and white accentuates the graphical lines in this well constructed composition. Fine conversion with a good range of tones and excellent sharpness.

nice picture which thanks to tight cropping focuses on the detail of the roof. The monochrome format enhances the geometry of the composition and character of the photo. Nicely given sharpness and contrast.
Thanks for sharing

Your viewpoint certainly emphasises its sense of height and drama. The repeating rectangles give an amazing pattern, like the scales on a fish.
I would be interested to see this colour as there appears to be a good sky, cloud contrast.
My warm regards,

The Burj Al Arab springs to mind as soon as I see this, that beautiful but strong curve rising into the air, a fine structure and a great idea to convert to black and white, which seems to really bring out such fine detail in the texture. The clouds look like they want to touch this feat of engineering, but are hesitant. A really fluid and pleasing image, nicely done.

Hey B x 24,
Looks like Noel beat me to it, the Burj Al Arab is the first thing that came to mind...are you sure you have the locale input correctly?? :) What an awesome take on this structure, using it's elegant curve to send the mind reeling in association with many other fine curves one might imagine. hehe
This is a beauty example of form and pattern coming together in one exquisite mixture that tantalizes the senses. The creative composition also strikes a strong cord of contrast, the hardened wood (Uhhhhhh, yeah....stop it right now!) set against the soft, cloudy sky is superb, and the highlights in the clouds really sets it off.
Innovative approach and a sophisticated result, that eye of yours sure know how to see 'em. (Down boy!)I like the choice for black & white as well, adding that extra little artistic touch. Have a good one. Take it easy.
Cheers from stormy Feenix,

great to hear that they are still using the buildings and such from the Olympics - lets hope they continue to use them for decades to come.
scrolling down the page, it seems like this subject goes on and on forever and ever!
you could have fliped it onto its side, but this is by far the most impactual compo.
sweet curves and lines. nice cut and crop from your photographic eye

Amazing repetition of the patterns and shapes in this 2012 Olympic Velodrome. Good tonal range and excellent sharpness and graphism. The elongated curve adds good lead in lines. Well framed and composed. Perspective is interesting with the central line horizontal but top and bottom bowed. Tfs!
delpeoples (54471) 2014-07-17 5:22
Ciao dear Brian
oooh I love these graphism/abstracts from you. The B&W was a superb choice, accentuating the vertical lines and creating a really clever perspective. I also like the way you composed and cropped the image. Excellent work.
Cheers, sorry I've been AWOL from TE for a while but hope to be more present
kasianowak (7421) 2014-07-18 2:22
Well seen! The graphic shape of the manmade structure contrasts well with the clouds. It's like two different worlds.

This is a nice graphical picture, with a perfect sharpness and an elegant black and white work.
