Something a little different today, HDR and de-saturation post processing of this old mill wall in the Royal Victoria Dock at Silvertown in London, England. I wanted to bring out the textural beauty and artistry of the brickwork in this image - I hope it works. Needless to say it is yet another beautiful old industrial wreck of a building, that is full of character and I just hope they can save and renovate someday.

Wow! It it is great. A masterpiece; looks like a Monnet picture from thumbnail.

This certainly works!
You have given close, textural details and still not taken anything away from the sense of the whole, as a beautifully composed abstract pattern.
I can't help seeing features in buildings.
Eyes closed at the bottom, wide open above!
Have a great day,

I just love brickwork so this hits the right spot for me. Precisely framed; great idea to leave the strip of nicely illuminated water at the bottom. Superb light, colours and detail with every single brick seemingly shining forth. Great stuff, thanks for sharing.

doesn`t matter where you look in this nicely cropped shot there is something to look at and enjoy, the warm tones and textures are delightful, these aided by some imaginative PP have resulted in a cracking shot.Love it.
All the best Les.

The brickwork with its multicolours, textures and tones of itself is lovely but with the bricked up and broken windows and the clinging plant life it makes a feast for the eyes. A simple and beautiful composition elevated to a creative and artistic image through your PP work.
Nicely done Brian!

Fantastic job in capturing these rich textures, and I really like the composition. The way you have placed the building off centre to include the door on the left makes this look to my eyes not like an old mill but like a towering Georgian mansion. Using your image as a guide, I bet many can see the past beauty here and the potential it holds. It would make a fine hotel if only the right person invested.
Now where did I put that spare twenty million... :)

That's right, this building is full of character, I want to see this wall in the future, the nature will overgrow the bricks, very well captured

hello Brian, It is something for Craig, the old dilapidated house, with broken windows, doors closed for ever and lovely creeper. Fantastic post procession, it works beautifully. splendid composition.

Un travail de post-traitement original et bien maîtrisé qui donne une photo très artistique de cette vieille façade.

This is a wonderful composition, that indeed depicts the art of brickwork in a special way.
Glad you saw the beauty in it!

I like the small patch at the bottom with the reflections. Good sharpness and smart choice of a vertical format. The plants climbing up the drainpipe remind me a little of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Fantastic color and sharpness with good saturation. Nice repetition of patterns and shapes in the derelict old building. Tfs!
