Photographer's Note

22 February 2007, Whitehall, Westminster, London

A pedestrian couple, hands together, rush across a busy London intersection, without brollies, to escape the drizzle.

An accidental play on London cultural stereotypes... think about it. It's not a great photograph but it has all the descriptive elements to play right into the popular stereotype of a London winter (or any season for that matter!)

...Westminster Palace...
...Westminster Abbey...
...A London double-decker bus...
...London cabs...
...the "Look Left" crossing sign on the pavement...
...rainy, overcast, dark, weather...
...The blur of a fluro high-visibility police jacket...
...the tourist in a motorcycle helmet photographing Big Ben...(maybe that's why the policeman is there?)...

At least, there are all things I associate with London... funnily enough, some of these things I also associate with Melbourne too.
