When a man is tired of London..., a photo from London, England

Photographer's Note

... he is tired of life. I believe Ben Johnson said that. And that was long before London looked like this. But it still is true. And every time one leaves that city it is with a wish to come back.

I realise I am not very active here on TrekEarth (and only slightly more so on TrekLens)but I thought I would use this most typical of TrekEarth motives to say hello and happy 2007 to all of you. The story behind the photo is simply that of a kind Luxair pilot who took us low over London City after take-off from Heathrow, and then of course a good camera with a good zoom, and an even better software to enhance the rather gray and misty photo taken from inside a passenger plane (you know what those windows always look like). If anyone would like to see the original I will be glad to post it as workshop for comparison.

We also spend some time in London but never seen it from this hight...
Lucky you ! When I saw your very nice shot, I felt silly with the series of shots I posted end last year... and I thought I was lucky at the time with the very bright weather I had.
I glad you came to visit us on TE with this one !

Extremely nice picture of London Eye, City and the river Thames. Very clear and may be over sharpened. Thanks for sharing.

I have similar photo taken on 17 Dec 2006 from Turkish Airlines flight Istanbul - London but not as good as clear as yours.

Hi Per, nice to see a new upload from you after quite a while. This is a rather unusual perspective on this part of London, and you manage to fit quite a few landmakes into the frame here such as Westminster Abbey, the Parliament, the Eye and Waterloo Station. This must have been a nightmare to keep below the 200 KB limit but overall it's really nice.
