As any visitor to London will know there is a constant stream of aircraft turning over the city to make the final approach into the airport at Heathrow (London Airport). Here a large aeroplane starts to turn over the financial heart of England's capital, which seems to be ever changing, with each new building being taller than it predecessors. The latest addition being the Leadenhall Building or "Cheese-grater" as it has been named by Londoners - it is the second one in on the left hand side of this shot.

What a picture, but what an extraordinary architecture with the modern buildings about the picture.
But especially the very nice old buildings in foreground and the nice cloudy sky and the plane in diagonal version to see.
I like the choice of your angle this create depth and perspective.
Excellent panoramic view about these area.
Very well composition, nice presentation too.
Nice done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

Brilliant capture of this wonderful scene! Of course, the combination of old and superb modern buildings are the most interesting part here but also the sky created a fantastic background which plays an important role. Excellent image! Very well done as always.
Have a nice Satuday!

A wonderful picture of modern London, with the airplane as the cherry on the cake!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, horizontal format, chosen pov and composition are all outstanding photo qualities!
Like I said before, lots of new skyscrapers around!
TFS - congrats,
Enjoy your week-end,

Very well exhibited and good combination of old and modern architecture. The foreground architectural view is very clear due to the dark cloudy background. Color, lightly and POV all are well.
best wishes and have a nice weekend.

The Cheese-grater is a new one on me, but I can see how it earned its title. A fine composition with lovely contrasting layers of architecture old and new. The light is quite divine and the warm colours very appealing. The passing aircraft silhouetted against the backlit cloud is a lovely plus. Have a great weekend; I hope you do better than us weather-wise.

The composition is dynamic, the depth of field excellent, and your perfectly managed to expose this amazing, dramatical sky.
Have a nice evening,

This is an epic pic, the combination of all these iconic London buildings, contrasting with the older architecture in front and this amazingly moody sky. The light has brought out such fantastic texture on details on both the stone and the glass behemoths.
Looking at the plane like this, makes me think of a particular scene from the movie 28 Days Later. The left to right diagonal is really nicely considered too. Excellent scene, thanks for sharing this.

This is a nice view of London with the building creating a nice declining diagonal through the scene. The inclusion of the plane is a nice bonus for the shot. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness and DOF.

Le ciel chargé dramatise l'image (souhaitons que l'avion se sorte de cette "tempête"!)et donne une lumière très intéressante sur ces immeubles modernes qui semblent pousser comme des champignons ici.

Wonderful architecture picture! What a great skyline!
The beautiful light illuminates the foreground wonderfully while the background is composed by a heavily overcast sky wherein the aircraft is exactly on the right place.
Best regards, Paul

so we have the cheese grader and the gerkin pickle!
what's next? :)
what a mixture of buildings!
looking at this scene makes me want to fly to london right now.
funny how the way its composed, because it makes the entire scene look like a Model-Set on a table
a very cool shot indeed. from where did you get this pov from? across a river or something? a walkway? small bridge?

Hello Brian, Awesome view of this London skyline. Amazing panorama showing older and newest architecture. Marvelous colors and the sky is fabulous. You waited for the plane appearing just in right place. Brilliant composition.

beautiful picture again. I love the way the colour of the sky is reflected by the steel like colours of the new buildings, what a pity the Gherkin has become shorter than others. It is still the most beautiful of them and would deserve to stay the dominant. (Funny name - the cheese grater - to complete the kitchen scene :-D. In our town there is a library called Emmental for its round windows.)

I like the sunlit yellow cloud contrasting against the inky blue black parts of the clouds. The tiny aircraft turning is a superb focal point. Good sharpness and a fine profiled view of the London skyline. Tfs!
