St Katherine Docks are on the north side of the River Thames, just east of Tower Bridge in London, England. The Docks took their name from the former hospital of St Katharine's by the Tower, built in the 12th century, which stood on the site. Officially opened on the 25 October 1828 they were never able to handle the larger ships and when extensively damaged during the blitz in World War II they were doomed as modern ships were unable to get into the dock. In the 1970's they were re-modelled to become the marina, leisure and housing complex they are today.

Hello brian ,
A luminous and colorful composition with splendid reflections . The "drakkar" in the FG is especially attractive .

a fine view point with excellent use being made of the splash of red on the FG boat.
The saturated colours have a great impact.
All the best Les.

Good choice of the vertical format, encouraging us to look across the water with its glorious reflections towards the focal point offered by the clock tower. The lighting is superb and the colours and clarity excellent. One of the first and most successful dockland refurbishments I think.

A lovely combination between the marina and houses.
But the really eye catcher are the reflections in the port of St Katherine docks
Nice nature picture, with a lot good details.
Excellent composition, good colours and nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice new week,

This is such a great place for photography, particularly when you get a bright, sunny day, like this, when the reflections on the water become as interesting as the reality.
I like how you have used the the red prow, in the f/g, to help create the sense of depth, whilst the vertical reflections assist to this end.
Excellent clarity, as always!
Have a great day,

Fine atmosphere along the docks. I like the deep blue water color and the red spot of the boat.
Have a fine evening.

A great example of what a small detail can do to the overall image. Without the red it would be just a nice one. With it, it is very attractive.

Isn't is amazing how many city dock and marina areas in cities have become places of leisure or residential development. I guess the land becomes so valuable it's a natural progression. This looks like a nice conversion too, that tower and building look very ice indeed, especially with the reflection in the blue waters. It seems a Viking longboat snuck into your shot in the lower right too, cool!
All the best
