Here is the City of London skyline taken from the gallery in the dome of St Paul's Cathedral. The view on the modern towers and the roofs of the buildings in the foreground is really impressive from that place.

I haven't been to London for a long time and the city was definitely not as crowded with modern skyscrapers at that time. But one can say the same with paris and La Défense !!
A good shot here, a mixture of colors, shapes.... of all kinds
A very convincing graphical result
best regards, have a nice day

a really surprised shot fronm the modern section of London. It;s the first time that i have seen these 'towers' of the capital and i can say that are very impressive and unique.I like the excellent light and colour management as the panoramic view of it.

Hi Gosia, Spectacular modern part of the city. It sure looks great. I like your panorama and the high quality of the image.
Have a nice day.

I have seen many shots of London and taken many myself but never one like this. It is like the sort of shot we normally see of New York. For me, this is a real cracker! You have used the f/g buildings as good leads, where the inclusion of people helps understand the scale. The dof is incredible, with colours that are both pleasing and natural.
I hope you enjoyed your stay in London.
I love to visit but would not like to live there permanently.
Have a great day,

to jest to co lubie najbardziej.Nowoczesna architektura!
Znalazlas super POV na ta prezentacje, ktory oddaje znakomicie wielkomiejski charakter Londynu.
Mi rownie bardzo podoba sie kolorystyka zdjecia-metaliczna,dosyc "chlodna" tworzaca wyjatkowy klimat tej sceny.

Hello Gosia, very nice image here. Good to see some urban scapes on TE. Good POV on the shot that allows you to get the whole scenery. IMO there's too much glass and concrete there, i'd like to visit more the countryside of England rather than London. Nevertheless a good shot.
macjake (54940) 2014-02-26 2:18
why have we NOT seen this POV before???????
this is simply amazing!!
this is my all time favorite viewpoint in London...I want to get this myself some day.
one of your best
timecapturer (47518) 2014-02-26 2:58
love this! I used to work where the red crane is in this shot at a time when the London skyline was not as impressive at it is in this wonderful image. Your POV and immaculate execution make this view so compelling and fascinating. Stunning shot of my Capital City.

Hello Gosia ,
A superb view of the modern London . Especially beautiful with this light and the blueish tonalities of the buildings and of the sky .
tenretin (2408) 2014-02-26 4:44
This is an interesting scene, full of color and detail. The rating is also interesting. This is a photo well composed and with natural colors.

Swietna ostrosc i ladne kolory.
SimoAle (642) 2014-02-26 6:49
splendida e accattivante la tua bacheca! Complimenti!

Impressive view of the roofs of the new London, the red parts burst out of the blueish hues of the city.
holmertz (39569) 2014-02-26 8:10
This is a breathtaking view with interesting details all over. The high towers show a variety of architectural styles but the greatest asset of this composition is the combination of older and brand new, of high and low. Among the fascinating details I am especially fond of the small figures seen on the nearest roof and the red crane in front of the green glass building.
ikeharel (55368) 2014-02-26 8:56
Good evening Gosia,
It's been long since I was in London, from 8/1993 and i realize I might not recognize the new modern skyline over town.
Fabulous clarity and light managed upon, intriguing photography wise. The red crane in super contrast.
adramad (36959) 2014-02-26 9:53
Superb skiyline city from a POV, very little known with these beautiful and modern buildings, great design with colored glass, these roofs in foreground, increase image perspective.
Nice color, in these natural tones.
Also both sharpness, such as lighting are great.
Well taken photo. I Like
Enjoy a nice day.

Absolutely nice and informative view of London. It seems it's not so long ago I visited London the last time, but might be a relatively long time since most of these new buildings were not there then! Great point of view, I'll try to remember. Just to mention, I don't share Gert's enthusiasm about the red crane. Not really damaging but I don't see it as a positive element. I especially like the roofs in the foreground, they contribute so well to the view.
Best regards, Claude
ourania (29445) 2014-02-26 10:32
this is absolutely stunning, such a comprehensive and enchanting point of view to this iconic group of buildings. The towers stand out with indisputable fascination, they seem to reach the clouds and they have the city in the foreground at their feet. Depth and details are captivating, your perspective has great dynamism and the viewer is rewarded by a very rich description. The few warm tones provide attractive contrast, the light has a peculiar quality, the human presence adds scale, reference and warmth. Superb work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,
subhendu_bagchi (25513) 2014-02-26 11:07

Add my congrats to the list, Gosia - tough to find a unique view of downtown London, but I think you've got it! The lead in at the bottom of the frame is perfect, drawing the eye right into the forest of skyscrapers that rises from the center of the shot. And the contrast of those buildings to the shorter city below works really nicely. A shame that crane had to be blocking the clear view, but at the same time the splash of red adds a nice contrast. Thanks!
carlo62 (30625) 2014-02-26 16:04

Hello Gosia - This is a superb shot. To my mind this beats many London shots I have seen hands down, the colours, the details and the sharpness are magnificent. Here is an image to look at time and time again and discover something new. Bravo! Warm regards Rosemary
photoray (11465) 2014-02-27 11:41
Like everyone else a spectacular view of London's modern skyline, with the foreground of lower geometrics leading past the classical towers into the multi colored sky scrapers radiating glass.

Nice view of the modern city scape of London. Well taken shot from your high POV. Nice depiction of ultra modern architecture on these buildings. I like the fact that you have been able to capture so many unique shaped buildings in one frame. Well observed and well taken, thanks for sharing.
abmdsudi (42012) 2014-02-28 8:51
Fantastic shot of urban scape I could not resist this view. Wonderful detail and stunning colours absolutely spot-on verticals taken in perfect light shaded by equally wonderful cloud and great clarity. The composure is spot on, a good perspective and unusual. You achieved what you set out to do. Congrats

Hello Gosia. An impressive photo. The view over the houses shows London as a city of the future. The small church is discovered only by accident. I especially like the people on the roofs because they give life and proportions.
Best rgds, Wolfgang.

Hello Gosia! Another beautiful and attractive urban & architecture picture, that shows that London is getting some new skyscrapers and the city is becoming a lttle bit diferente than it sãs some years ago! Sharpness, exposure, colors, vantage pov, vertical format and composition are all excellent here too! Tfs! Cheers! Neyvan

As a child I lived in London, then in my early 30s, I lived in England (Oxford) again, making frequent trips to London. It is remarkable how the skyline of London has changed with modern skyscrapers sprouting out all over. But, take a look at Medieval Skyscrapers. The Italian families of San Gimignano appear to have had the same idea six hundred years ago.
ktanska (24570) 2014-03-04 10:26
I haven't seen a view from this dome before. Looks definitely a place to visit! Also the skyline of the City has changed quite a lot in last few years. Roof of the foreground building has innovative architecture too.
ChrisJ (95900) 2014-03-08 10:44
I would agree that this is an impressive view of the futuristic city skyline and the fg looks ultramodern too! The people add scale and animate the scene. Good sharpness and perspective and lead in lines with the central 'canyon'. Have a great weekend!
jcpix (13404) 2014-03-08 14:25
I'm late to the party once again, but happy I made it none the less...what a super view over modern London! First time I've ever seen this compilation of high rises from such a vantage point, it's truly striking to witness from an elevated point. It all looks so very futuristic when put together in this manner, almost like something of a movie set. :) Normally cranes, much like scaffolding, are the scourge of any photographers ire, but the dash of red color seems to work well in this scene. The people on the foreground rooftop help give a strong sense of scale, letting us understand just how small we are in the grand scope. Impressive shot, a real winner! Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Take good care.
COSTANTINO (53757) 2014-03-08 23:21
specracular modern view to those buildings
the chosen point of view from the gallery
in the dome of St Pauls Cathedral is
the best showing the development of
teh modern architecture and the
fantastic architectural details
very well executed
kwekwekan (1022) 2014-03-22 14:38
London's skyline has changed a lot in the past ten years or so with the addition of a number of interesting futuristic skyscrapers. You have captured them very elegantly here with a nice clear day and well defined sharpness and contrasts. The building in the foreground compliments the futuristic skyline as well - it looks straight out of an artist's rendering of some new, modern public space.
phildar77360 (322) 2014-03-23 11:51

I may seem to have missed this one. Stunning! Another Sublime image from your gallery. I love how the most of the buildings in the FG are all flat then behind are the modern tall ones. Great contrast in here. I love the tones as well, and the colors. The overall feel is just classy! Bravi!
Have a nice sunday!

dear friend gosia another fantastic picture with great sky line from London under suggestive sky
great details and scharpnees and fantastic colors dear friend
mjw364 (7292) 2014-04-08 2:06
Great composition and I like the way the perspective is slightly compressed. Interesting that you are taking this from the top of St Pauls - an older cathedral which is swamped by this modern architecture. A very interesting POV.
samson (1355) 2014-04-24 7:13
Although London's skyscrapers are less than Dubai and Shanghai, they are still lovely to look at. Lovely scene taken by you.
Gigidusud (14713) 2014-04-24 7:57
Wow! Splendid view on the city with impressive architectures. Great neatness and splendid sky. I like a lot!
PS:I leave for a short stay in London, I'll try to do as well.
dcole (281) 2014-07-27 11:48
This is a very attractive image of London, I've never seen it from this angle. The perspective really emphasizes the density of the city.. great composition, well done!
