A view from London Bridge at the south bank of the City of London and the towering presence of The Shard. The Shard is one of the newest skyscrapers to grace the City of London skyline, standing at 1,016 feet (309.6 meters) it opened on the 5 July 2012, and is the tallest completed building in Europe. The tower has 72 habitable floors, with a viewing gallery and open-air observation deck – the UK's highest – on the 72nd floor, at a height of 804 ft (245 metres).

This view on the modern design is absolutely amazing! You captured so many interesting forms and architectural shapes here. Excellent execution with a perfect exposure. Like it!

Hi Brian, another interesting architecture shot from you. Great in its quality, nice depth and sharpness. The textures created a nice graphism. I like the part of the bridge as a leading line to those architectures. Great shot. Tfs.

The point of view is splendid to show us this fine ensemble of modern architecture that now dominate the London skyline. The balustrade of the bridge makes a good lead-line and helps give the image depth. I like the lighting and that lovely sky. Excellent colours and clarity. I wish you a pleasant week.

superb architectural composition!
The newest addition to London´s skyline "The Shard" looks magnificent here.
Also light and the way it affects the color scheme of the image is amazing.
Have a nice day

A fine composition of impressive pieces of modern architecture. I like the contrasts and the shapes of your image, very well taken.

This is the first time that I read about the tallest skyscraper of Europe.
A very modern architecture building, with a lovely blue sky in background.
I like your choice of your angle excellent with very fine details.
Excellent composition, nice captured, good presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,

Ciao e buona giornata

Last time I was there, it looked very different, before the new buildings. Must go there and have a look!

I had no idea until reading your note that this was the tallest completed building in Europe, I'm really enjoying seeing and learning more about this uniquely structured building. I believe this is the first time I'm getting a much closer look...most everything before has been from the other side of the river. This is a neat geometric arrangement you've put together, the many lines and shapes are a fun play for the eyes.
It's a bit deceiving too, I initially thought it was off level...which had me thinking for a second, "no way Brian would be that unbalanced in composition!??" :) And what's that I see along the right side of the frame, people? You're blowing my mind today! haha I hope you have more to show of the Shard, I went back through your gallery to "re-admire" (not sure that's even a word) the ones you've previously posted...this really is impressive design. Enjoy the day ahead.
Friendly wishes from Phoenix,
Been a Yankees fan since I was a fetus. I'm still bitter about the Diamondbacks beating them in the '01 World Series! Grrr!! Good on you for knowing some baseball where football rules supreme, I'm impressed. :)

Très bonne photo de cet immeuble à la hauteur impressionnante. Pas sûr que je sois très à l'aise au 72 ième étage!!!!

I know this spot and walked across this bridge several times. Had to quickly vacate my temporary tripod (the ledge) when a street sweeping vehicle started approaching me! Might upload a shot of the Shard Tower at blue hour later. The diagonals add good perspective as well as dynamism. Tfs!

This is a fabulous view of "The Shard" and a much more interesting view of it than I have seen before. Again, I suspect your research has led you to find the perfect viewpoint and also the perfect hour in which to take this shot.
A picture of complementary colours - blue and yellow/brown - it has lovely classical "thirds" composition which is so pleasing and also includes many of the classical and much loved triangles. Glorious light, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Ohh, a view FROM bridge! I see. But my first idea was this is view OF a bridge. Hmm, what's so strange construction again ;)
Excellent photo and very informative note. Thanks, Brian.

sorry, i've been a little absent on TE for the past 2 or 3 days, havn't viewed your latest photos until now.
and of course this one caught my attention immediately.
When i looked at it, London isn't exactly the city that first came to mind! but its great to see the city adding new modern architecture too.
great to see the clouds, the blues, the lighting and all those windows.
wow, over a thousand feet! thats really high. It'd be nice to see some photo's from the observation deck! hint hint!!! :)
great shot of the new London

That view has really changed, hasn't it?!
I like it and this picture as well!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, vertical format, chosen pov and composition are all excellent!
TFS - congrats,
Enjoy your week-end,
