Photographer's Note
The old ornate spire of St Magnus the Martyr Church in the City of London, England, and the "new spire" that is "The Shard" the latest skyscraper to grace the City's skyline. Seen here in the early morning light, the church was rebuilt, under the direction of Sir Christopher Wren, after the Great Fire of 1666. Being less than 300 yards (270 metres) from the origin of the fire in Pudding Lane, it was inevitably one of the first churches, of many, to be destroyed.

Hello Brian,
the modern structure of The Shard stands out really great against the classic architecture of the church. The juxtaposition of these two completely different architectural styles is awesome. But I like also this lovely, soft light, that illuminates so nicely facades of the buildings.Superb composition!
Best regards

Old and new, warm and cold....a picture with
a nice contrast. Picture has also a excellent
light management and composition. The
vertical position emphasize extra the building
and the highness and it makes also the
picture nice calmness.

Ciao Brian
un felice incontro tra antico e moderno, entrambi illuminati in maniera perfetta ed un contrasto tra colori caldi e colori freddi, il tutto gestito - come tuo solito - in maniera perfetta.
Complimenti
Ciao e buona giornata
Romano
