This is a reflection view of the famous London Cathedral of Saint Paul's, from the opposite gardens were there is a modern sculpture.(See WORKSHOP)
St Paul's Cathedral, London, is a Church of England cathedral, the seat of the Bishop of London and mother church of the Diocese of London. It sits at the top of Ludgate Hill, the highest point in the City of London. Its dedication to Paul the Apostle dates back to the original church on this site, founded in AD 604. The present church, dating from the late 17th century, was designed in the English Baroque style by Sir Christopher Wren. Its construction, completed within Wren's lifetime, was part of a major rebuilding programme which took place in the city after the Great Fire of London.
The cathedral is one of the most famous and most recognisable sights of London, with its dome, framed by the spires of Wren's City churches, dominating the skyline for 300 years. At 365 feet (111 m) high, it was the tallest building in London from 1710 to 1962, and its dome is also among the highest in the world. In terms of area, St Paul's is the second largest church building in the United Kingdom after Liverpool Cathedral.
St Paul's Cathedral occupies a significant place in the national identity of the English population. It is the central subject of much promotional material, as well as postcard images of the dome standing tall, surrounded by the smoke and fire of the Blitz. Important services held at St Paul's have included the funerals of Lord Nelson, the Duke of Wellington, Sir Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher; Jubilee celebrations for Queen Victoria; peace services marking the end of the First and Second World Wars; the wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Lady Diana Spencer, the launch of the Festival of Britain and the thanksgiving services for the Golden Jubilee, the 80th Birthday and the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II. St Paul's Cathedral is a busy working church, with hourly prayer and daily services.

molto bello questo riflesso, una distorsione originale e molto colorata.
Ottimo colpo d'occhio.

That reflection is certainly fascinating. Saint Paul's is clearly identifiable even in this distorted form. Colours are clear and saturated. That sculpture is really reflective giving excellent result. I like your tight framing showing just small slices of direct view.

Distorted beautifully sounds like something wrong, Iian - but this is one fine distorted reflection collcted.
The garden itself, as on the WS, is a charming green-lung inb the city.
Superbly collected sight, very clear elements on mirror.
have a nice sunday,

Well spotted this distorted reflection, which puts a completely different perspective on this London icon. You obviously benefited from some fine weather; the light is perfect to bring out the colours and detail.
Weather here continues in the same vein, bright and sunny, cold in the mornings but getting up to 19 or 20 in the afternoon. Long may it last!

Hello Iain - The colours leap out here and I like their clean brightness and contrasts. The distorted reflection of St Paul's was well spotted and the shot is most attractive.
I like the WS shots too, they add to the understanding of this one.

What a unique view of an icon! It looks beautiful in this distorted vision, and its very cool that you got a red bus into the scene too. Between that and the blue truck, you have a veritable rainbow on display in this very cool abstract take. Very nicely seen and taken.
All the best

Une image très bien composée avec cette déformation caricaturale.C'est un symbole déformé de Londres.J'aime beaucoup ce rendu claquant des couleurs.

I like very much reflection shots since within a reflection all things are possible in terms of creativity and new ways of seeing things. So hats off to you for seeing this one when most others would have passed it by.

one of my favourite landmarks in London presented in delightfully original and fascinating way. I like very much the playful distortion, the fine rendering of details and all the bright, contrasting colours you put into this frame. The texture of the glass is excellently defined and offers a most agreeable sense of fluidity. You managed light and contrast in a remarkable way. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

The distinctive red double decker London buses contrast superbly against the blue sky and the distorted reflection adds an abstract look and feel to this superb street scene. Good density levels and excellent colour, sharpness and saturation. Tfs!

Thanks to the WS we get a fair idea about the sculpture. A fine idea to have a close framing of the famous cathedral, the distorted view, which makes it very interesting indeed. Well done!
