The little red tanker Karolien sails up the River Thames past the residential properties on the river bank, which lie in the shadow of the financial centre skyscrapers at Canary Wharf in the City of London, England.

Your photograph defines, very clearly, the importance of the residential buildings, otherwise, this would look just like any other big city, a mass of glass faced sky scrapers.
A beautifully composed photograph, with features strongly placed. The light is lovely. You had surprisingly good weather on your capital trip.
Have a lovely day,

How tiny those houses at the river get with them huge monsters closing in from behind.
The little boat does not seem to bother.

For some reason these houses with their colourful façades put me in mind of houses in the tropics. In any event they sit well against the high rises and bring a real touch of character to the scene. The passing boat, which seems very low in the water also contributes much to the mood. A beautifully illuminated image with superb colours and clarity. A real eye-opener for me.

These houses, despite being four stories tall, look like little toys in the shadows of these gret architectural behemoths. It's a fantastic effect which shows up the colors of the lower buildings well against the blue tones of the scrapers, while showing modern London in a beautiful photogenic light that I would guess many people don't see in their day to day. Another brilliant post of this place which is climbing my bucket list day by day.

Simply a beautiful photo, I like the row of little colorful houses and the skyscrapers look like mountains behind the little houses in the FG, very well done

Une autre réussite! Encore une fois, une belle opposition entre les petits immeubles coquets au bord de la Tamise et ces grands immeubles modernes.

Thexe colourful houses look like dolls houses under the big grey boxes. Stunning shot. Excellent composition and colours.

Great shot ! You used very well the contrast of size between the skyscrapers and the houses along the river Thames. And you used very well too the contrast of colours. A very impressive skyline !

The red barge contrasts superbly against the blue grey sky. Good sharpness and a nice contrast between the old and the new with the older waterfront residential properties juxtaposed against the newer bg highrise buildings. The blue sky makes a wonderful backdrop. The riverfront building at far left seems to be very popular with the crowds. Tfs!
