A view across the River Thames from North Greenwich at the houses and apartments sandwiched between the river banks, and the towering buildings of the financial ones at Canary Wharf in London, England. Once again a monochrome version is posted in the workshop by way of a comparison.

Who would believe this is London!
It has begun to resemble N.Y!
Is it co-incidental that the banks have the tallest buildings?
I like your composition, the buildings rising like giant steps from the banks of the Thames, with good contrasts between the old and the new.
Though they are both very good, I prefer your B&W rendering, possibly because, for me, the f/g buildings are a little too saturated.
Have a lovely day,

The framing is precise and the clarity pin sharp. The colours are highly saturated but for me that contributes much to the success of the composition. Superb lighting as always.

Hello dear friend
what could I say for this wonderful capture?
at firstI thought that it was a postcard
from New York with the twin towers but then
I red London here we have a real impressive
capture with those high buildings rising
with huge steps
have a nice time

This also looks like HDR. I love the rich colours and crispness of the image under the perfect light that you had. The B&W is also excellent.
Your image is of particular interest to me because my daughter worked for a couple of years in one of the financial buildings at Canary wharf.

Your photo is a perfect illustration for a book about the city jungle :)
I like the color combination with beautiful blue tones and yellow accents, very nice silhouettes of the skyscrapers in contrast with the small houses in the FG

oh I do like this, whilst the BW has it`s attractions on this occasion the colour version knocks my socks off, those harmonious tones are so appealing, definitely one of my favourites.

incredibile contrasto tra colori e dimensioni dei palazzi.
Un colpo d'occhio splendido, ben composto e ben realizzato.

It's incredible the differnce between the color and black and hire versions, the color looks like an architects concept image, beautiful light, vibrant color and a frankly amazing combination of building heights, from the lofty tower of canary wharf to the little two story fairy tale house. Then in the black and white one, I think we can see the true souls of the banks, dark, ominous and overbearing but still an amazing array of engineering design.
My own preference here is the color one, because it brings out the wonderful light so well and the contrast between the orange and blue is so pronounced. Both are wonderful though, this is a fantastic shot.

Wow! What a view! The glass buildings look extremely elegant and wonderful in my opinion at your shot. Low POV really makes a difference and it beautifully works here to get an outstanding result. Love it!

That could be in Manhattan, but it's in London that's become a little bit similar to NYC in the recent years and I've read that that change hasn't finished yet!
Beautiful modern architecture picture!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, chosen pov and composition are all excellent!
TFS - congrats,

I've missed your wit and humor, ya' dirty dog! :) At first glance I thought you'd jumped across the pond and snapped a few from NYC, this has urban modernism written all over it...and certainly not what one first envisions when thinking of London. You're a deceptive chap aren't you? hehe
Always great to see something unexpected and "new." With an extended focal range, I hope residents didn't perceive you as spying on them from the other side of the river, or do your "peeping" skills only come out after dark?? :p
Love the graphic appeal of the hard lined glass and steel compilation withing this framework. Very well composed and presented to reflect a different facet of this vibrant city. And would you look here, sunshine....another stereotype busted! Have a good one B. Take it easy.
Cheers from hot and sticky Feenix,

Très bonne photo de cet alignement d'immeubles qui semblent écraser les maisons qui sont à leur pied. Contraste intéressant entre les couleurs vives des maisons et les façades bleutées des immeubles. Belle version noir et blanc en WS.

Hello Brian, I see that this wharf is heaven for creative photographers. Even if I am not so interested in modern architecture, I like this composition. Fantastic contrast of old and new. Superb colours, stunning sharpness.
Warm regrads MAlgo

j'aime beaucoup la composition de cette photo et le contraste entre les jolis petits batiments du premier plan et les buildings. Les couleurs sont belles même si elles me paraissent un peu trop saturées.

This is great! I wonder how people must feel in those little houses, they seem so small with those huge buildings behind them. I really like the colours and that row of flower pots in foreground. Very well framed!
