Once upon a time a minority of football supporters saw the weekly game as a good excuse for a punch-up between rival supporters. Thankfully the days when "crews" and "firms" from opposite ends of the country would meet at a match and fight for stupid reasons are pretty much over.
Nevertheless, outside every major game you will always find the Police keeping a watchful eye on the crowd, directing the masses to the game, and then once the game is over directing them straight from the ground to the nearest train or tube or bus station for the journey home.

Too bad these guy are needed... Supporters should only support their team and let the game be decided of the field and not outside the stadion... Well composed photo though, and i like the b/w.

Hi Casper - the behind the shoulders perspective really works here, making us feel like we are one of the cops. :) Funny how there is a overwhelming police theme here, including the home grounds being for the Arsenal Gunners, of all team. :) Nice though to see there isn't a true showing of arms, just a bunch of fans content with the game's outcome, apparently. :)
