Sadly, after many decades the iconic Spalding Tulip Parade has come to an end. This out of the way, eastern edge of England town once hosted the biggest and brightest bands of the sixties and seventies. Even Hendrix played there and people came from all over Europe and even further afield to see the remarkable array of tulip bedecked floats...the crowds still turned out for this last one...an event I hadnít been to for nearly forty years...

Hi Kev. You hadn't visited the event for decades, multiply that by thousands over the years and then bang, the last one is upon us. So we all lose something, knowing that one colourful thread in the expression of our humanity is lost forever. Makes me sad to look at this image where the "crowds" seem somewhat thin. Still, there were smiles. Wide angle is very effective here, capturing the setting and adding to the sense of movement. Regards. Klaudio.

Excellent capture in B&W Kev. Your shot is packed with detail and oozes life lived and enjoyed. A shame to hear that one more English tradition has bitten the dust. Pity..... I wonder why? Best regards Rosemary

Although I do not venture to TE much these days, it is great to see one of your images. A poignant moment captured, it is always sad in so many ways when tradition ends. Although I am unfamiliar with this particular one, I think there is something universal here, and the vibrant smile & action you captured makes me wonder why it has come to an end.
