Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

This is a view of an old Tudor building, through an ancient arch, in Lincoln. It made an exciting prospect as we approached it from the Lincoln Cathedral pathway.

Lincoln is a most historic and interesting city. I must praise the people of Lincoln for working so hard to maintain the character of the city, without letting its historic areas become swamped with modern supermarket chains.

Whilst looking at the city's history, I found this most interesting timeline, here. It was a great surpise that the city boasted a population of 6,000 to 8,000 people during the Roman occupation in A.D. 150, and yet it did not reach the same capacity again until the 19th century.

You may have gathered, I find history so interesting!

I wish you all a lovely day,
Bev :-)
