Photographer's Note
Normally I leave the landscape view to the photographers who have tripods with them.. but when the light is good, plus good luck, I can get a picture..:-)
I'd been the hall many years ago, but it seemed I missed a lot of the things in the hall last time, either they've changed since or just as this time, I found that some visitors missed some places as I did.. try to explore the places as much as you can,if you pay a visit...
The Old Hall is 'famous' for royal visits. but very little know about it..It is among the biggest and best-preserved medieval manor houses in England. It is part timber-framed but mostly brick-built.Both Richard III and Henry VIII were guests of the Burgh family, who originally built and lived in the building. The Mayflower Pilgrims and John Wesley also worshipped within its walls. It was built in the latter part of the 15th century with Elizabethan additions, and has an impressive kitchen with an enormous fireplace, a noble great hall, and an imposing lodgings tower. It was said that the tower also has a c.17th ghost last seen in the 1950s. There is a ghost hall in the building, it was a corridor led to the tower, it was only revealed in the 50's, when the restoration work was done at that time. According to the local legend, the ghost was the hall's owner's daughter who fell in love with a poor farm worker. She was locked by her father, some saying was bedroom, some saying was the tower where she died from broken heart..

Hello Jasmine,
I used to live and work in Gainsborough very many years ago, so I was very pleased to see this fine capture of the Old Hall. Your point of view is well chosen to show the lovely architecture to great effect. Colours and detail are both excellent. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Jasmine,
You have given us a very interesting and informative note here and a wonderful photograph to illustrate it too.
Your composition is excellent and also very pleasing and I like the framing by the overhanging leaves at the top. Your colours are vibrant but true, your exposure is spot-on and the details and sharpness are excellent.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
