Photographer’s Note
I don't remember a school life where 'the Proms' played any role - there may have been end of year parties, post exam bashes, but not the full on extravaganza of full dress and posh cars to get you to the event. Some local secondary schools in my home town have adopted this, to me, very American phenomena and we now have the annual parade of interesting and high class vehicles carrying 16 pluses dressed to the nines - perhaps it's a matter of the state funded sector catching up with its rich neighbours, as we have a big sector of private education in the town, but whatever the young people have enormous fun with it.
I was impressed by this young gentleman's solution to the hands free mobile, inelegant yes, efficient, no, spontaneously amusing, for me yes.....perhaps you had to be there! ;-)

Kev,
A great shot - which really couldn't have been better if it were intentionally set-up. To my eye - more likely to my mind - it's a pretty accuracte portrayal of the future - maybe this young chap's future, for it will surely soon be mandatory to have some sort of telephone internet thingy welded permanently into some part of your anatomy - if only for reasons of personal safety.
Cheers and hoorars!

hello kev,
in this photo everything is british, the two guys, hairstyle, dresses, etc. as ninal said, like "beatles" but for me more than beatles british films. also this is a documentation of "encounters with cellphones". thank you for this amusing photo.

Hi Kev,
A friend of mine has done a very short film (less than 3 minutes) where he shows the links between cigarettes and mobile phones. He draws a parallel between people with cigarettes and those with a mobiles. For example, both were (and are) suspected to give cancers, or the way people are holding their cigarette or their mobile in their hands, etc. Too bad he has finished his film, I would have tell him to ask the permission to use that photo, it would have been perfect! ;)
A funny picture. And a fitting title. ;)
(That "thing" entering his head... bah! you already know about it! ;))

Hi Kev,
Surely not the most elegant but making a nice compo you have here. Is the guy next to him laughing about him or about something that was said there?
