Photographer’s Note
This was taken outside my house yesterday morning. It was a lovely day, though it had been snowing the day before!
This is another experiement for me...just tilted the camera to add a some drama. I have purposely kept the image very dark...another experiment with b/w conversions.
Any comments/tips for improvement would be appreciated...

I really like the tilt. It seems to play with my eyes. I have to say I like the heavy contrast. Nice capture of motion. Compositionally, I think it might have been better if you had given a little more space between her feet and the border. Other then that I think this is a great shot.

it's nice to see you experimenting with the contrast and the dodging and burning and so on..
brings some amount of life here.. as far as the petty things are concerned..
the tilt does not really help here in my opinion.. firstly.. it's not really making the photograph any more dynamic or anything like that..
secondly.. it's a little too obvious..
does the tilt serve any purpose?? or is it just a gimmick?? you should keep these things in mind.. for me it's the latter here..
i prefer a more subtle tilt personally... a tilt that kind of has an effect without really being so obvious..
also tilts that are used basically to fit in things inside the frame..
i think you'll find a little more success in tilts (provided it's not used so loosely as it is over here..) when the horizon is more prominent..
saying this.. it's good that you're experimenting and all that.. if you don't then you'll never be able to find your way fully..
but i hope you don't start to depend on tilts in order to get in the dynamism.. tilots rarely help in doing that.. your priority instead should be to catch a dynamic scene.. a tilt can them be supplementary to that..
take care :)

Hey Kajal,
The experiment seems to have worked here... dont know if the tilt has helped, but the way you have captured the various subjects in the image do add alot to your work, making the capture worthwhile...

a pleasant slice of suburban life. i kinda like the tilt here, i agree it doesn't make the shot more dynamic but it allows for a more aesthetic and balanced filling of the frame with your characters. would have been maybe more effective if you caught the woman in a better stance, somehow stepping out of the frame, especially since the "missing" leg is a bit disturbing. i'm sure with time you'll get better in pp and avoid the too obvious halos seen around the people here.

Hello Kaj
I agree with Sohrab. It's nice to experiment, i like it too; But I feel also the tilt it's a little too obvious.
On the other hand I like the subject, and the BW for that subject, with very good contrast and light!

Hi Kajal, You caught two different scenes in this street. A conversion in the back that ignores you and the front walker and her dog both looking at you. The strong tilt makes the photo a little bit creasy and this goes well with the cloudy and dark sky. Well done. Christophe

I like this one... B/w goes well with the pics! And the use of tilt certainly adds drama particularly with those two elderly gentlemen in the background. The picture gives an impression of a weighing balance which is tilted favourably towards the man with the dog (your subjects who are much more in focus and thus prominent) against those two men in the backdrop!
Just like the weighing balance tilts down towards the heavier object...
Nice worke

Hi Kaj,
Nice one.I think theres no need for a tilt here. The subjects in your frame are not going to add any value on a tilt.
The Choice of B/W is good. But a tilt you can make when there are somethings in the pic which would add some viewing interest. Like lines , patterns, architechtural structures etc.
An example would be shooting a Train from close to the window towards the end and then tilting it to show lines traversing towards the center or something like that.
Good experimenting.Keep them coming in.

A great shot. It has a mysterious feel to it - maybe because of the threatening sky, or the woman's hidden, unreadable face. Striking!
