Good Morning Everyone,,
A curious title, you may think, but it refers to the appearance of these beautiful spring flowers - bluebells.
Brian (timecapturer) has been posting shots of bluebells for nearly a month. Up here, in the north of England, the bluebells have just opened, to make the most amazing blue carpets in the woodlands.
Bluebells succeed in shady areas. This photograph was taken at Spring Wood an ancient woodland that is owned by Lancashire County Council. It is so relaxing to walk through this woodland, with only the sound of the birds trilling in the background.
Natural woods contain English bluebells but many gardens now contain Spanish bluebells. It is easy to tell the difference once you are aware that they are different. This Internet link will explain the difference.
Have a lovely day,

A fantastic sight of the bluebells within it's natural forest environment, Beverly.
Stunning blue color to walk within this charm, and in fine contrast to green.
Light through the trees perfectly handled.
Lovely sight, well collected photo.

so 'these' are bluebells about which I have heard and read in many books... finally I see them on trekearth :-). Fine photograph with lovely colours. The flowers are beautiful of course and your composition precise and effective as always.
Thanks for sharing and have a great new day.

Lovely spring image!
The framing is superb, it really feels like I am walking there, among the millions of bells.
We have them in Sweden too, English or Spanish I don´t know, but I love them.

You're lucky we don't see any around here at all. I like this shot very much indeed. Expertly composed using the tree trunks as a lead-line to draw the viewer in. Beautifully lit with superb colours and clarity.

good to see your bluebees are finally out and looking wonderful. Your trees are as advanced as ours down here and I think the new greens add so much to this type of image. My shots have very little tree growth in them, so I think this image has much more beauty and impact. Beautiful!
Regards - B.

Un très beau cadrage vertical qui laisse toute la place à ces très belles fleurs bleues qui recouvrent le sol de cette forêt. J'aime beaucoup la lumière qui perce les feuilles à cet endroit.

This is such a delight!
The depth of field draws the eye right into the middle of the field of flowers, making me feel like I'm standing there. Great effect; great light management!

you have captured the delicious blue of the bluebells really well. They are a wonderful sight. This has been achieved by that special light giving natural colours. Your composition is perfect with the bluebells carpeting the foreground. Thanks for the link that explains the difference between English & Spanish bluebells. I do hope, like the grey squirrel, they don't take over.

Ever since Brian has been posting his shots, I have been suffering from bluebell envy, trying to find anywhere in Ireland that had a similar view. I succeeded yesterday, and will also be posting bluebells today :) We can form a gang!
This is a beautiful vision of this forest, and where you have positioned the tree on the right side is very appealing indeed. The texture of the tree is amazing too, I reckon if I touch my monitor I will feel those rough tones. And of course, beautiful spring light.
Great post, and beautiful sight.
All the best

This is really a lovely view. It's a carefully made composition and perfectly exposed, giving the colours very natural tones. Everything looks so fresh and crisp, and after all this is spring at its best.

Ciao cara Beverley,
Ciao e buona serata

A beautiful view with blue flowers covering the ground. Here we have the Anemone Hepatica, but they are quite rare. In Texas we have seen the bluebonnets, also covering large areas with blue. Blue is indeed a very attractive colour and a very pleasant capture here.

Yes, Bev, the title was captivating.
Excellent colors, but then, this flower is so great in that aspect.
Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

The bluebells are finishing here so it is good to hear that they are in bloom elsewhere in England. I always think that the bluebell woods should be easy to photograph but they are not. So very well done for getting a lovely image. They meander around the trees and disappear into the distance - gorgeous!
Kind Regards, Ann

This is a very lovely nature shot. So pure and pristine setting, this is like a little piece of paradise found in the forest. Love how the light manage to come through the trees and provide some warm so this lovely bluebell flower can grow so well.
So beautiful and refreshing to see and mother nature can really put on a show here.

Ciao cara Bev
I see that Brian's Bluebellism is catching and catching so beautifully. A stunning shot, which makes me think of Enid Blyton's Magic Faraway Tree. I'm just waiting for an elf or fairy to skip across the path. Such exquisite colours and textures. I like the details in the tree trunk too. Beautiful shot, thanks for sharing.
Have a lovely Friday

Hello Bev - I am back from my trip and although this isn't your most recent upload I cannot help but comment. What a sight! I love woodland and here with the carpet of bluebells the wood looks so beautiful. One of my great delights was walking through bluebell woods and I remember one of the last trips out I did with my dad was to enjoy a similar scene.
I had heard about the invader continental bluebells which, I understand, are posing a threat to the true English bell. Ban them I say....... :)
Warm regards from Namibia
