I like the point of view , and the way in which this B&w makes the picture so sad but mysterious too .

wonderful, wonderful image, great DoF and POV...I like B/W images...I like the way the pier takes you to the horizon...and such clarity...it's almost like the pier end is pushing apart the waves...(take a look at the vanishing point)
