It is only for a short period in June that the sun sets behing this statue of Morecambe's most famous comedian son, Eric Morecambe. Recognisable by the stance that finished most of his shows off. I had to balance on the rockery to get enough height and the shot is hand held. Aperture priority, ISO 200, spot metering and lens at 70mm.

You do not care if I don't know who that is, do you? Still I want to comment your picture... I really like the way you replaced the sun in the shot by the statue. Always makes such a shot unusual since we expect something bright in that spot. The quality is good and so is the contrast! All in all a nice shot!

This is a well composed sunset shot with a good strong silhouette, Eric being one of my all-time favourites, I could tell what it was from the thumbnail.
I had a look at your website too by the way, you have some very impressive wildlife shots.
