Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Something a little different, today.

WE don't get a big range of butterflies in the garden but tortoiseshells, like this one, appear when the herbs are flowering, when the buddleia is in flower and when the plums are ripe.

It is sad that butterflies have seriously declined in recent years due partly to lack of meadowland and the use of chemicals. Farmers are now being encouraged to leave strips of meadowland between their fields and reduce the use of chemicals. The results, to date, seem very positive.

Have a lovely day Bev :-)
