Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday was glorious and I had planned to write about how the land was recovering from the rain; sadly, this morning, it is raining again!
Still, this shot shows that we have had some good weather.
The wall in the photograph follows the back of the garden of Trawden Hall, a large house built in Victorian times to replace an earlier Elizabethan building that was demolished.
To the front of the wall is an old, stone-flagged path, known as Trawden Flags. It is difficult to see evidence of it, as the grass and wet soil has gradually encroached. It is an old packhorse route which was used to carry wool from this district to the markets of Halifax, in Yorkshire.
I hope you enjoyed the shot.
Have a great day, Bev :-)

What a beautiful (almost spring!) scene you captured yesterday! The sun still has such a cold tonality but anyway it created a charming view with pastel colors around. Very well seen and composed landscape. TFS!
Have a nice Sunday!

Beautiful view from rural England. You have made good use of the short but fine weather. Love the green rolling fields contrasting so well with the clear blue sky. The fluffy white clouds floating in the blue sky makes the scene look more attractive. The row of trees and the wall of the left is providing good depth to the photo. Your attention to details of composition is evident here as well. Good one with natural colours and light. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Beverley.Very appealing contours accentuated by well chosen POV and a clever composition which places the wall in the corner and so creating as sense od depth as we follow its curve. The trees to have a roundness to them which harmonizes with the overall gentle aspect of the landscape. Lovely light and colours. Regards. Klaudio.

I really envy you, living in such a beautiful part of the country! This picture tells it all. the bare trees add a nice triangle above the stone wall. This wall provide a diagonal line along with the lawn and the horizon far away. It must be very beautiful here, even when the rain falls.

Ciao cara Beverley
Ciao e buona domenica

yes we had a good day down here yesterday too! I love this winter shot with its enticing lines and glorious leafless trees. An exquisitely English view and despite the obvious mud so inviting. The light and hint of habitation make this both effective and attractive. Beautiful!
Enjoy your Sunday - B.
Sorry about the country change this morning, I could not see my Greek posting on the screen here, so assumed it was a TE glitch and despite further efforts to upload a smaller version, decided to abandon it and post a shot of some huts instead. Glad you like it. Will have to try again with the Greek shot. Stay dry :-)

Today we're enjoying splendid spring weather here in Belgium. This picture of Lancashire also shows a beautiful sunlit landscape.
To me it looks like a typical English landscape with its softly undulating hillsides in which the long wall and the row of trees are adding much depth.
In the right upper corner beautiful white clouds provide good balance in the image.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Beverley ,

Good morning Beverly

I suspect it will take a long time for our islands to dry out after all the storms, and our weather is mimicking yours. Yesterday, the sun shone brightly and everone was commenting on how badly it was needed. Today, its grey and raining. Oh well, perhaps we will get another summer like last year, that will certainly dry things!
This is a beautiful scene to capture on the sunny day too, the old wall is full of character and its composed perfectly in the scene, leading the eye from the lower left deep into the scene, and up and over the hills. The chimneys peeking over the hill makes me want to exploring and see that house in more details, while up above, a beautiful sky. Lovely scene, with really fine light.
All the best

Good evening Beverly,
Imagine the ferel after the rain, walking around the countryside ebjoy the fresh smell of the veg.'s, and inhale the clear air.
Fine shot with the big trees employ the "sky-space" on the photo, the stones fence leading the view to the houses beyond, giving a bit of "mystery" yet to be explored.
I assume climbing higher on the hill to right side, would force you to hike over muddy trail, but maybe a POV from atop would show a wider perspective. my thought only.
Have a nice new week,

it would be nice indeed to hear that the rain has stopped finally in UK, what a shame it was just for a moment. Anyway, this picture shows very pretty weather in English countryside. The composition gains a lot from the stone wall placed smartly in the corner and leading an eye up and over the hill and the trees which follow the line. Springtime colors and subtle light make this scene even more appealing.
Well done! Enjoy your Sunday!

I love the gentle curve made by the outline of the trees before they disappear down the valley along a diagonal next to the wall. The lawn looks marvellously green for this time of the year and plays an important part for the beauty of this photo, along with the nice weather.

that is a lovely view of the countryside with great framing. I have read about England in so many stories and novels and this lovely scene that you have presented brings back so many of them. The light and the colours are natural and lovely. Thanks for sharing and have a great new week.

Nice and sunny it is, hope this becomes the norm rather than the exception.
Loved the effect of the light on the trees.

a beautiful composition here. Like your framing. The use of diagonal in front portion. Excellent light. I think colour tone is a little flat, a bit vibrant tone may be better here. Just a thought. Overall a very enjoyable one. Tfs.

I see the muddy FG Bev and the clouds are rising behind the hills but for now the weather looks good. I do like the way the sun is painting the wall and trees with warmth and as we follow their line the fields beyond the valley are basking in the sun.
Beautiful England (never mind the weather)
Have a dry week
